Later that day in the afternoon, I was sitting at the Ping river in Chiang Mai together with Martin. We were just enjoying the beautiful sight over the water, waiting for Angelo. Angelo was as usual late but finally he arrived. I saw that he was walking a little strange and asked him how his day was. “Terrible” he said, “today is a day to forget quick”. “Why Angelo?” Angelo who was holding his hands for his crotch said, “Oh it’s to painful to talk about, but some private problems yeah.”
So I invited him to go to a bar in the city to cheer him up a little bit. So Angelo, Martin and I took our motorbikes and drove into the city to the bar complex.
The bar complex is a building with many bars inside and in the back a Thai Boxing ring. We parked our bikes inside the building and sat down at one of the bars with a view on the boxing ring.
“Hello, one beer please” I asked to the sexy waitress, who was walking by. I looked at the boxing ring and saw that they were just going to start a new fight. The announcer of the boxing stadium was calling out people who wanted to get into the ring to fight one of the professional fighters.
Martin who wasn’t paying attention on the boxing raised his hand to call the waitress to order a beer too. And as you might guess the announcer saw Martin raising his hand and called him to come forward to get into the ring. Martin didn’t want to but because me and Angelo thought it would be funny to see Martin in the ring, pushed him towards it so he had no other choice then to accept. The announcer handed him a boxing outfit and told Martin to change. After a few minutes, Martin returned all dressed up as a Thai boxer to get into the ring.
Martin was very surprised when he saw who he had to fight. It was Rambo, you remember, one of the 2 gangsters and he also saw that his brother Rocky was the announcer. But because Martin didn’t want to loose face before of the crowd he decided to give everything and would try to beat Rambo up. The bell sounded and the first round started.
Martin attacked Rambo immediately and after giving and receiving a few punches Martin gave Rambo a good hit to the head. Rambo fell down and Martin jumped up and down because he thought he had won. Sadly for him, Rambo got up and was ready to fight again. Rambo was just playing with Martin, he was a professional fighter and Martin wasn’t, so after a few more minutes, Rambo decided to end the match. He gave Martin a terrible hard blow right on the eye and Martin was completely knocked out.
Angelo and I were laughing our heads off and Martin stood up after a few seconds with a big black eye. Martin wasn’t happy at all and the only thing he wanted now was to drink beer to forget about it.
